A Nigerian identified as Bukola Somide has created a 14-inch computer science interactive doll. The doll, named Somi, teaches computer science concepts in a fun way and deters cyber bullying. Bukola says Somi’s persona was created with the intent that young learners would find her relatable and want her as a friend.
As Africans continue to use their ingenuity for the good of humanity, Nigerians are getting more involved in this service to humanity by creating technologies that will make life easy for all. Bukola Somide has joined other Nigerians who are passionate to better the world they live in.
Bukola said: “Somi is a curious, bright, humorous, and beautiful young girl who has a natural interest in learning computer programming concepts from her mom. “Her inquisitive nature allows her to connect what she’s learning with real-life experiences. Somi’s persona was created with the intent that young learners would find her relatable and want her as a friend.”
Bukola added: “My passion is to bring computer science awareness to underserved communities while deterring cyberbullying. I’m so excited for everyone to experience Somi, the computer science doll!”
